Yeah, we got a lot of rain and wind. Was supposed to have a softball game last night at 8:30 and they didn't call it until 8:50ish when they actually saw lightning...we were up 3-0 in the top of the 2nd too.  ::) Not much damage around here though thankfully.

Just a lot of rain here in Nashville!  I read somewhere that the death tally was 193 and rising.  Prayers to those families!

Yeah, I think it's up over 200 now and it may get higher.  Alabama seems to have taken the brunt of the storm with over 100 tornados tracked there yesterday.  In Georgia most of the bad stuff was in the extreme northwest of the state with a few severe pop-ups south of Atlanta.  North of Atlanta where I am ended up not getting that much at all.

Made out ok.  If I'd been 15 miles north or about the same south would have been in the middle of some bad stuff.  Ringgold is wiped out along with exit 348 on I-75 (which is about 3 exits up from me).  My in-laws live in Birmingham and got lucky as well.  Lost power but no major damage.

yeah, thanks for the sentiment.  we didnt get alot last night.  however, two or three weeks ago when the last set came through, we took 10k in damage to our roof.  if that wasnt bad enough, my deductible on wind/hail is 1% of the value of my home so im having to cover $5200 of the expense out of my pocket.  yay me!

glad to hear none of you were severely affected by last nights storms, they looked horrible on tv.

Why don't you just upload a backup file from your iPhone and link us to it? We'll take care of the rest....

Man we got hammered below JC (Farva you got off light m'man) - hail  an inch in diameter and bigger and ferocious winds but no tornadoes thank God. Did about $3K of damages to my dad's pickup - 50 dents....Freeking lightning and thunder was constant for over 2hrs....We actually got an automated call (before power went off) from Emergency services telling us that K-town was gonna be slammed till 1 am.  We finally got our power back about 11am today Heard hail in Knoxville was softball sized  :o

I spent a couple hour on the runway in Dulles wanting to get home, but not wanting to get crashed.

The weather finally cleared by about 9pm and I got to go home.

WOW Mas, you weren't kidding!!! I just drove down 75 to come to Canton and you were right. There were numerous trees uprooted, guard rails mangled on the side of the road, billboards were torn down, and they closed that exit down. The NB traffic was at a stand still but SB was flowing. That was a crazy sight to see and I guess I'm going to have to try to find an alternate route to go back up since I'm sure they'll be doing construction all weekend.

Yeah man that whole exit got pretty much wiped along with the entire downtown area of Ringgold from the pictures I saw posted.  Man that had to be a crappy drive today too because Chattanooga/Cleveland and other areas that way were hit really hard.  Big stretches without power etc.  75 has been a pain since the first bout of storms yesterday.  I wish I could tell you a good alternate route but I think 75 might still be your best bet since the side roads from what I've heard are much worse.

looks like 411 runs exactly parallel to 75 all the way home for you.  Says 5hrs from canton back i think.  dunno if thats an option or if it will be bad for the same reason you take it.  google says 85 to 26 and 23 would be an hour longer.  good luck, sucks to have crappy road trips with traffic and all, but gotta feel for all the people impacted by such a crazy scary front.

Lol, yeah from this side of Atlanta 75 is really the only option. Meh, maybe they will be working on SB lanes instead when I go back up...with how many hours I've logged on express-ways getting stuck in traffic is just something that happens (and the XM Radio helps). 85 is on the east side and goes to Ashville, and I've never gone on 411 other than closer to Atlanta but I dont think I'd be able to ride 80 mph the entire way like I can on 75...26.
