Hey folks-

So I'm playing in (the? a?) BwA Homefront server today which is always a good time. I kneejerk join servers with "fogey", "old fart", basically anything that implies an age where midnight is "work is going to suck tomorrow" territory. I'm doing okay, as usual it takes a couple rounds of warm up, 2nd place, 6th place, 3rd place.

Suddenly I get in some kind of Mt Dew / cold medicine zone where I'm a terminator and taking down 3 or 4 guys/tanks/drones for every death. I went as high as 54/16 (which, I can assure you, is not something I've ever seen before in any game except maybe an RTS meaning those numbers are shite). At that point I get "Connection to host lost".

So, if any admins see this, was I kicked because you thought I was cheating? If so, I was not.

If not, uh, hey! Homefront rules!

Someone that plays Homefront will probably respond but usually when you are kicked the message will state as such.  I know that Homefront has issues to cause servers to go down from time to time and that we are trying to find ways to minimize or eliminate that.  Like I said though, one of the guys that plays regularly will surely respond and let you know what's going on but if you could post up the date/time this happened that would help out a lot to answer your question and also to help us track down issues with the game server potentially.

Roger that, Riggs, thanks. I assumed it was an issue with my connection to the server, but I was so stunned by my random epicness that, once I got done crying, I figured I'd come and ask.

It would've been today about 2:10pm Central time, U.S.

Yeah, we only have one HF server right now since as there is a slight delay for the dedicated server files. Once Kaos releases the server files we'll have the ability to host Homefront on our beast of a server in Atlanta, GA which will also give us the ability to very easily host multiple servers. The server right now is through a GSP and has some issues for a few different reasons (some being the game itself, some being the GSP, some being 3rd party admin software  ::) ) This should all improve shortly though.  :)

I don't think I was in that game with you but it seems judging by the message you were given that the game crashed and you weren't kicked. If you get kicked/kickbanned in Homefront, the message you are given is "You have been kicked for idling" (something I assume they'll get to eventually since it's a low priority defect). And you're right 54-16 wouldn't immediatly throw up a red flag with me personally becasue you'd be there quick by getting some multi-kills, being cautious, etc.

Thanks for stopping by and see ya in the server!!

yes farva is correct and while we give kick/ban reasons on our other core games, HF does not allow message differentiation at this point so you wont know why you were kicked if you were (which i doubt it).  IIRC i was in there and while we did have one guy that was likely hacking today, i didnt kick him and we had no others mention or complain to me in vent which they would have done before you would have been kicked.  i can say, though, that we are err'ing way on the side of caution and prob only kicking 1/4 of the real hackers so thats another reason it prob wasnt why.  see you ingame.

I was playing much of the morning, and I don't think you were kicked. The server did go down a couple times.

Roger, thanks all! Sensitive Sally moment over (as soon as I get some FLOWERS).

Thanks again for a great (mature) HF server.

No worries.

Thanks for playing, and even more so, appreciating the fact we TRY to run a mature server environment, although we DO let CID play....... but as I said.... we TRY.
